Generating matches by play date in Round-Robin leagues
In Round-Robin leagues, you can generate matches for a specific play date instead of generating all rounds at once. This lets you build your schedule incrementally—for example, generating April 11 rounds first, then April 18 rounds later.
Generating matches by play date is only available in league events. Non-league Round-Robin events use the standard generation flow for all rounds at once.
Generate matches for a specific play date
Open your Round-Robin league and go to the Matches tab.
Select the play date you want to generate from the date tabs.
Tap the admin button.
Select Generate Matches.
Choose your generation settings for that date.
Tap Continue, then Confirm.
Only the selected play date generates matches. Other play dates remain untouched.
Regenerate a single play date
If you need to rebuild matches for one date without affecting other dates, clear that date first, then regenerate.
Select the play date you want to regenerate.
Tap the admin button.
Select Clear Round.
Choose which round to clear.
Confirm.
You can clear any round, not just the most recent one. This is useful if you need to redo an earlier round without wiping matches from later rounds.
Clearing a round that isn't the latest may cause gaps in round numbering. For example, if you clear Round 2 but keep Round 3, your rounds will be numbered 1, 3, 4, and so on.
Clearing a date deletes all matches and scores for that date. This cannot be undone.
After clearing, follow the generate steps above to create new matches for that date.
What happens after generation
Matches appear organized by the play date you selected.
Court assignments appear if courts are already configured. See Court Management (Round Robin).
The system prioritizes opted-in players but uses fallbacks when not enough have opted in—if too few players are opted in, it automatically includes players in "waiting" status. See League opt-in for more on managing player availability.
Player and team availability fallbacks
Match generation is designed to avoid blocking you when player status isn't fully updated. The system uses fallbacks based on your event type:
Leagues with opt-in enabled: If too few players have explicitly opted in for a date, the system automatically includes players still in "waiting" status so you don't get stuck.
Doubles leagues: If fewer than 4 teams have both players checked in, the system falls back to include all registered teams rather than blocking generation entirely.
Singles and regular team leagues: Similar fallbacks apply when not enough players are checked in—the system includes registered players who haven't updated their status yet.
These fallbacks reduce situations where you're unable to generate matches just because a few players haven't updated their availability yet.
Switch partner formats
For rotating partner Round-Robin leagues, the same play date generation flow applies. Partners rotate within each date's rounds. If you need to adjust players before generating, see Editing groups in Round Robin.
What to do next
After generating matches for a play date, players receive notifications if alerts are enabled. To set up your next play date, see Managing play dates in Round-Robin leagues. To track player availability before generating, see League opt-in.
