Creating multiple divisions within an event
Create multiple divisions when one event needs separate brackets for different skill levels, age groups, genders, or capacities. Divisions keep registration, scheduling, and standings organized without splitting the event into separate tournaments.
Set up your event first in Creating an Event in GGS. Then add divisions before you open registration.
When to use multiple divisions
Use divisions when players should only compete against a defined group. Common examples are intermediate and advanced brackets, mixed and gender-specific groups, or separate age bands.
If your event is a league, keep divisions simple. For most league workflows, separate events are easier to manage.
Before you add divisions
Plan the details for each division before registration opens. Decide the division name, format, capacity, date, time, and any skill, gender, age, or rating limits.
If each division needs its own court plan, review Court configuration per division before you save the event.
Add a division
Open the event creation flow and go to the divisions step.
Turn on Setup Multiple Divisions.
Click Add Division.
Fill in the division details.
Save the division.
Repeat for each additional division.
You can use the previous division as a template when you add the next one, then change only the fields that need to be different.
What to configure for each division
At minimum, set the division name, format, and capacity. Add the skill range, gender, age requirements, and rating requirements only when you need them.
Use the division list to review each card before you publish. Edit or delete a division if the structure changes before registration starts.
Next step
After your divisions are set, finish event setup in Event settings.
