Charge a player's card when you add them to an event
When you add a player to a paid event yourself, you can type their card into the app and charge the entry fee on the spot. Use it when someone can't register on their own, for example a player who is missing a DUPR link the event requires, or someone signing up in person. You can charge them while adding them, or later from the roster.
You need to be the event's host or a club admin. The event must take registration through Good Game Sports with an entry fee, and your club must be connected to Stripe and ready to accept payments, the same setup that opens registration to players.
Add a player and charge their card
The charge happens on the confirmation step after you pick the player, so nothing is added until you choose to charge or add them without charging.
In your event, go to the Players tab.
Click Add and select Add Individual Player.
Find the player by name, username or email, or click Add a guest instead for someone without an account.
Pick one division and click Continue.
On Confirm and collect, check the Entry fee. You can keep the event price, or change it to a member price, a custom amount or no charge.
Click Enter card. The button shows the total.
Type the player's card details and click Pay.
The player is added to the roster as paid. To add them without taking payment now, click Add without charging instead (Add to their account at clubs that use Good Game Sports for court bookings), and they show as owing on the roster.
Adding a player to several divisions at once skips the confirmation step. Charge each division afterwards from the roster.
Charge a player you already added
Players you added who haven't paid show an Owes badge with the amount next to their name, and the Owes filter at the top of the Players tab lists all of them.
Click the Owes badge next to the player, or open the player's details and click Collect payment.
Click Enter card, type the card details and click Pay.
The badge disappears once the charge goes through.
What the player is charged
The player pays the same total they would at checkout: the entry fee, your club's sales tax if you charge it, and the service fee unless your event covers processing fees. The money goes where the event's registration payments always go.
The card is used for this charge only. We don't save it to the player's account.
The player's details show the payment as paid with a card entered by staff, and you can refund it from there like any other registration.
If the entry was paid another way, or the player was withdrawn, while the card form was open, we refund the card charge in full automatically.
When Enter card isn't available
The Enter card option doesn't appear in these cases:
The event is free, or you set the entry fee to no charge.
The event takes registration outside Good Game Sports.
Your club isn't connected to Stripe yet, or Stripe hasn't enabled payments for it.
The entry includes your club's day pass, or you're using a package pass or paying for weeks one at a time. Charge these with the card on file or the card reader.
Clubs that use Good Game Sports for court bookings also see Charge card on file and Pay at card reader on the same screen. To add players in other ways, see Add players to your event.
