How players claim their registration
A player you add to an event is only a name on the roster until they claim it. Claiming links that name to their Good Game Sports account, which is what lets them see their schedule, report scores, opt in and out of league weeks, and get notifications.
Players must claim their own registration. Whoever taps Claim becomes the owner of it, so an admin who claims a player's row attaches that player's event to the admin's own account.
What a player does
Point players at the event itself — there is nothing to send them.
Open the event and go to the Players tab or Player Hub.
Find your own name in the list.
Tap Claim and confirm.
If the event uses email verification, the player enters the email address on their registration to prove the row is theirs. One claim can cover several divisions: when the registration has an email, every entry with that same email is claimed at once.
Choose how players verify
Email verification is on by default and is the right choice for almost every event. Turn it off only for casual events where you would rather people not be blocked at the door.
Open the event and go to Event Settings.
Open Player Verification Settings.
Choose Email Verification or No Verification.
Save.
With No Verification, anyone signed in can claim any unclaimed row in your event without proving who they are.
When a player has no Claim option
The option disappears once a row belongs to someone, which is usually the explanation.
Someone already claimed it. A row claimed by another account cannot be taken over. If the wrong person claimed it, ask them to unclaim it.
They registered themselves. A self-registration is already tied to their account, so there is nothing left to claim.
They are looking at the wrong name. Check the spelling on the roster — a player added twice under two spellings will only recognise one of them.
Unclaiming
A player can release a registration they claimed, from the same place they claimed it. They will need to claim it again afterwards to get their schedule back.
Three things stop an unclaim:
They paid for the event. The app tells them to contact the host, so the refund and the registration are handled together rather than the payment losing its owner.
They registered themselves. Self-registered players manage the entry from their own profile instead.
It is not theirs. Players can only unclaim what they claimed.
Unclaiming a registration that came from CourtReserve also drops that player's CourtReserve sync for the club's linked events. The confirmation lists which events are affected before anything happens.
