Configure courts for Rotating Partner Round Robin
Configure courts for a Rotating Partner Round Robin from the Admin menu, then restrict rounds to your court count, auto-assign matches, or move a single match to another court by hand.
Configure courts
Choose the courts this division (or the whole event) plays on before you generate or run rounds.
Tap Admin.
Select Configure Courts.
Choose This division or Entire event.
Select the courts to use.
Tap Save.
If a court is already used by another division, we warn you before saving. Sharing is fine when those divisions play at different times; tap Save Anyway to keep it.
Restrict to N Courts
Once courts are configured, the generate dialog, the Edit Rounds dialog (opened from Add/Regenerate Rounds or Regenerate This Date) and the Regenerate Matches dialog show a Restrict to N Courts checkbox, where N is your court count.
It is off by default. With it off, we schedule as many matches as possible in each round and extra matches wait for a court to open.
With it on, each round is capped at your court count and the remaining players get a bye. For example, with 12 doubles players and 2 courts, the round has 2 matches instead of 3 and four players sit out.
Turn it on when every match in a round should start and finish together. Leave it off if matches can wait for an open court and the round can run longer. For adding and regenerating rounds, see Manage rounds and play dates in Rotating Partner Round Robin.
Auto-assign courts
Auto-assign gives matches a free court and keeps upcoming matches updated as play finishes.
Tap Admin.
Select Auto-Assign Courts.
Tap Enable to turn it on, or Disable to turn it off.
It assigns unassigned matches first, avoids courts that are already occupied, and runs again each time a match completes.
Courts for later rounds
To give every match a court ahead of time, configure courts first, then open Admin > Auto-Assign Courts and tap Assign all courts under Pre-assign all courts now. It gives a court to every match that doesn't have one yet, across all rounds, and spreads players across courts so they don't keep landing on the same one. Matches that already have a court, finished matches, and matches still waiting on an opponent are left alone. It runs once, so games added later need another tap or auto-assign. It also works in Mixed Gender Rotating Partners and Round Robin with Pros.
Without it, auto-assign gives a match a court only when a court is free and none of its players is still on another court, so later rounds get their courts as play moves along. Courts go out in schedule order unless you turn on Let ready matches skip ahead in the Auto-Assign Courts dialog.
Match cards and the schedule grid show a court for any match that has one. The printed match list shows a court only next to matches that are live. Print match cards or the grid after courts are assigned if players need their court numbers.
Move one match to a court by hand
Override auto-assign for one match when you need a specific court.
On the match card, tap Assign Court (or the Upcoming label if the match already has a court).
Select a court.
Tap Assign to book it, or Assign & Live (Make Live if it already had a court) to start it now.
To move a live match, tap its Live label, tap Set to Upcoming, then assign the new court.
The same dialog has Unassign to take the match off its court.
Court assignment for added games
Games you add after generation are not auto-assigned to a court until both teams have real players. Assign players first, then let auto-assign run or assign the court by hand. See Add an extra game in Rotating Partner Round Robin.
