Edit player groups and regenerate in Rotating Partner Round Robin
Group editing is how you control who is scheduled in Rotating Partner Round Robin, and regeneration is how you rebuild the schedule around a changed roster. Together they handle almost every last-minute change without losing a single completed score.
In this format groups hold individual players, not partnerships, because partners change every round.
[!INFO] The most important difference: in a league, group editing applies to the play date you are currently viewing. In a single day event or tournament, it applies to the whole event.
Open group editing
Go to the Matches tab.
Tap the Admin button.
Select Edit Groups (also shown as Edit Player Groups).
Move players between groups, or drag a player into Excluded to leave them out.
Tap Save Changes, then choose how to apply it.
Use the search bar to find a player quickly. Tap + to add a group, or X to remove an empty one.
Leagues: groups are per play date
A league roster changes week to week, so group editing follows the week you are looking at.
Open the play date first, then open Edit Groups. Whatever date is on screen is the date you are editing.
The dialog reads each player's opt-in status for that date. Players who opted out of that week appear in Excluded.
When you save and regenerate, only that date's rounds are rebuilt. Every other play date and its scores are untouched.
This means a player can be in Group 1 on one week, in Group 2 the next, and excluded from a third — all without disturbing anything already played.
[!WARNING] If you edit groups while viewing the wrong week, you will change the wrong week's schedule. Confirm the date shown on the Matches tab before you open Edit Groups.
Single day events and tournaments: groups are for the whole event
There are no play dates, so there is one set of groups covering every round.
Changes apply across the entire schedule.
Regeneration rebuilds from the round you choose through the end of the event.
Instead of opt-in, the roster comes from who is checked in.
Choose Withdraw or Regenerate
After saving, the confirmation dialog asks how to apply the change.
Withdraw appears only when every change you made was an exclusion. It deletes unplayed matches that included the excluded player and leaves everything else exactly as it was — completed results, court assignments, and the rest of the schedule.
Regenerate rebuilds the schedule from a round you choose. Use it for any other edit, including moving players between groups.
[!INFO] Withdraw does not rebalance. It removes matches but does not fill the resulting bye slots or even out the rounds. If pulling a player leaves odd gaps, use Regenerate instead.
Regeneration for last-minute adjustments
Regeneration is the tool for the ten minutes before play starts, when two people cancel and one walks in unannounced. You are not stuck with the schedule you generated.
Update the roster — exclude the no-shows, add the walk-in to a group.
Tap Admin → Edit Rounds → Regenerate Rounds.
Leave the starting round on its default: the first round after your last completed one.
Confirm.
Everything from that round forward is rebuilt around the roster you have right now. What you get:
Completed scores are safe. The default starting round is chosen specifically to sit after your last scored round, and a round that already has scores cannot be overwritten.
Partners are recalculated so the new roster still cycles through fresh pairings rather than repeating.
Byes rebalance, and the rebuild accounts for who has already sat, so a player who took a bye in round 2 is not made to sit again immediately.
Leagues stay scoped to the date you are viewing.
You can regenerate as many times as you like before scores are entered, so it is safe to adjust, look at the result, and adjust again.
[!WARNING] Regenerating from round 1 deletes every match including completed ones. The app warns you first. If any match in the division already has a score, regeneration from round 1 is blocked until you clear those scores.
Check the result with Matchup Stats
After a regeneration, confirm the new schedule is balanced.
Tap Admin → Matchup Stats. It appears once matches exist.
Review the summary: how many unique matchups exist and how many repeat.
Review the warning list, sorted by severity.
Matchup Stats can also suggest specific swaps to fix an imbalance. Applying a suggestion swaps the two players within that round and refreshes the schedule immediately — you do not have to regenerate to take it.
