Substitutes and player swaps in Rotating Partner Round Robin
In Rotating Partner Round Robin you put a different person on the court in one of two ways. Use the pencil icon on a match card to swap a player in one match right now, or register a substitute on the Players tab when a player has arranged a stand-in for chosen dates or rounds. Neither one regenerates the schedule.
A player did not show up and their match starts in five minutes: use the pencil.
A player is out for two dates and a friend is covering: register a substitute.
A player is gone for the rest of the event: neither. Remove them from the event instead.
Swap a player in one match with the pencil
Replace changes only this match. Swap trades the two players, so the other player's match that round changes too. Nothing else in the schedule moves, and only admins see the pencil.
On the Matches tab, tap the pencil icon on the side of the match you need to change.
Pick the player coming out (Player 1 or Player 2).
Choose Replace to put a new player in their spot, or Swap to have two scheduled players trade places.
Select the incoming player and confirm.
Every other player in the division is listed, including players from other groups. To move someone to another group, use Admin > Edit Player Groups. An empty side shows Assign Players, the same dialog you use to fill an added game.
Register a substitute for chosen dates or rounds
A registered substitute plays in a player's place only on the dates or rounds you tick, and the player keeps their spot in the event.
On the Players tab, tap the swap icon on the player's row. It is orange with no substitute and green once one is registered.
Enter the Substitute Name. Existing subs and players in the event are suggested as you type.
Optionally enter the Sub DUPR ID. Without it, matches with this sub are not uploaded to DUPR.
Enter the Points Deduction per match (leave 0 for none).
Tick the coverage under Select Dates for Substitute (leagues) or Select Rounds for Substitute (single day events and tournaments).
Optionally set how this sub's rounds count in standings (below), then tap Register.
The substitute can only be used in the dates or rounds you ticked. Points are deducted only when the substitute actually plays, so registering one in advance costs the player nothing. Decide whether substitute rounds count in standings
The division setting is the default, and each substitute can override it.
Division default: in Event Settings, tap Substitute Standings, pick the division, and set Count substitute results. It is on by default.
Per substitute: in the substitute dialog, under Standings for the rounds above, set Count their results to Always count, Never count, or Use division setting.
When a sub's rounds do not count, only the player who registered the substitute is left out for those rounds. Their partner for the round and both opponents keep full credit for the result and points. Rounds the player played themselves count normally.
This is narrower than set-partner formats, where the whole team is left out for a match its substitute played. Partners change every round here, so only the one player is skipped.
The other switch, Penalize wins (per sub: Void a win when both partners have subs), stays greyed out in Rotating Partner Round Robin. It voids a game win from a fixed pair, so it applies only to same-partner divisions scored by individual games.
