Record a forfeit
To record a forfeit, tap the match to open its score dialog, tap Forfeit, and choose the team that forfeited. The other team wins, the match card shows an orange Forfeit badge, and the result is never sent to DUPR. What happens to games already entered depends on the format, so read the section below before you use it.
Hosts and club admins can always record a forfeit. Players in the match can too, until both teams have confirmed the score.
Record it
Open the event and go to the Matches tab.
Tap the match card to open the score dialog.
Tap Forfeit (the orange button under Submit score).
Under Which team forfeited?, tap the team that couldn't play.
The match is finished straight away. In a bracket, the winning team moves on to its next match as with any other result.
Games entered before the forfeit
The forfeit window says games already entered are kept. That is only true in brackets.
Brackets (single, double and triple elimination, Compass, consolation and the bracket stage of Round Robin to Bracket): when you record the forfeit from the bracket, the games already entered stay on the scorecard. A player who retires at 11-5 down still shows 11-5. The team you name as forfeiting loses, even if it was ahead. With nothing entered, the match shows 1-0.
Round robin, ladder and league formats: any games entered are thrown away and replaced by a single game won 1-0 by the team that didn't forfeit.
A forfeit a player records from their own match card always shows 1-0, in every format.
What a forfeit does to standings
In round robin, ladder and league formats, the 1-0 game counts in standings like any other score. The winner gets a win and 1 point scored. The team that forfeited gets a loss and 1 point against. This feeds into point differential, total points and point percentage. For the full ranking rules, see How Standings Are Calculated.
Formats without a Forfeit button
Challenge Ladder, Team Events (MLP) and the Open Play formats have no Forfeit in their score dialog.
Challenge Ladder: enter the score both sides agree on. If an extra challenge match was never played, a host can remove it with its delete icon, as long as no score has been entered. The round's assigned matches can't be deleted.
Team Events (MLP): enter the line scores that were played, or put a substitute in for the missing player.
