Edit or delete an event

Change an event's name, date, format, or pricing from your Host Dashboard, under Settings > Edit Event, or with the pencil at the top of the event page. Deleting is in the same Settings list, in the Event Management section. You need to be a host of the event or an admin of the club hosting it.

Edit an event

Edit Event splits into three editors, so start by picking the one that holds the field you're changing.

1. Open the event and go to the Host Dashboard.

2. Open Settings.

3. Click Edit Event.

4. Choose Event Details for the name, location, dates, format, and pricing.

5. Make your changes and save.

For a shortcut, tap the pencil next to the share button at the top of the event page. It opens the same Edit Event dialog.

The other two editors in that dialog:

• Divisions: add, edit, or remove divisions. On a single-division event this reads Additional Information, where you set skill level, age, and rating requirements.

• Event Description: rules, logistics, contact info, and policies.

Event dates live in Event Details. If a date looks wrong on your event, that's the field to change. It's separate from the date the event was created.

Change the format after creating an event

You can change the format in Event Details at any time, but the new format replaces the format of every division in the event, including divisions you had set to a different format.

• To change only one division, edit that division under Divisions instead of changing the event format.

• Matches already generated are not converted to the new format. Check the Matches tab after saving and regenerate if the schedule no longer fits.

• Once you save a real format, Decide at the event is no longer offered, so you can't switch back to an undecided format.

Change a division to singles or doubles

Singles or doubles is set per division, in its Division Type, not in Event Details.

1. Open the event's Host Dashboard, go to Settings, and click Edit Event.

2. Choose Additional Information on a single-division event, or Divisions on an event with more than one.

3. With more than one division, click Edit (the pencil) on the division you're changing.

4. Set Division Type to Singles or Doubles, and save.

Pair sign-up is for doubles only. When you switch a division to Singles, its Sign-Up Type goes back to individual.

Delete an event

Deleting takes the event off your club page along with its registrations, matches, and scores. You can't reverse it from the app, and you choose what happens to any payments as part of deleting.

1. Open the event's Host Dashboard and go to Settings.

2. In the Event Management section, click Delete Event.

3. Confirm with Delete event.

4. If players have paid, choose who covers the processing fee (The club covers it or Take it from their refunds) and where the money goes: Refund to original payment, Give as club credit, or No refund.

5. Click Refund and delete, or Delete event when nobody has paid.

For a repeating single day event, you also choose whether to delete only this event, this and following events, or all upcoming events in the series.

If the event was created from CourtReserve, deleting it releases the CourtReserve link. That frees the CourtReserve event so you can build a new Good Game Sports event from it.

You created the same event twice

Edit the one you're keeping, then delete the duplicate. There's no way to merge two separate events. The Merge Divisions setting only combines divisions inside a single event.

Check which copy players have registered for before you delete. Deleting takes its registrations with it.
