How the club Community works
The Community is your club's discussion board. There is one per club, shared across every event you run — not a separate board per event. Players reach it from the Community button on your club page.
Being a club member and being on the Community are different
These two are easy to confuse because both grow as people register, and they behave differently.
Club membership happens automatically. When someone registers for one of your events, or claims a registration you created for them, they become a member of your club and are enrolled in your default free tier.
The Community is a separate join. Registering for an event does not put anyone on the board on its own.
So your club member count will usually run ahead of the number of people posting, and that's expected rather than a fault.
How people end up on the Community
Most players never join deliberately — they land on it the first time they open it.
A club member who opens Community is added to the board and taken straight in, without a separate confirmation step.
Someone who is not a club member yet is asked to join the club first, then continues to the board.
Club admins always have access without joining.
Anyone who signs up for a paid membership joins the board as part of signing up.
Someone who has a Good Game Sports account but has not signed up for any of your events can join at any time from your club page. They do not need to wait for an event to be added.
What members can post
Anyone on the board can start a post, and there are four kinds. Alongside general discussion, players can post that they are looking for a partner or looking for subs, which is what most club boards get used for day to day.
Announcements are club admins only, and they pin to the top of the board automatically. Use those for things every member should see.
A post can be tagged to one of your events, which is useful for keeping a thread attached to the right league. The tag labels the post — it does not limit who sees it. Everyone on the board sees every post either way.
Reaching only one event's players
The Community always reaches the whole club, so use the event's own tools when the message is only for the people in it. Open that event's Host Dashboard, go to Settings, and use the Player Communication options.
Send Notification to Players — reaches players by SMS, push notification, and email.
Email All Players — everyone in the event, including waitlisted players.
Email Registered Players — confirmed registrations only.
Pick Email Registered Players when the message only makes sense to people with a confirmed spot — schedule changes and start times. Email All Players is the one to use for anything a waitlisted player still needs to hear.
Leaving and removing members
Members can leave the board themselves at any time from the Community, and leaving does not remove them from your club or cancel any event registration.
Club admins can remove someone from the board. Removing a member takes them off the board only — their club membership and event registrations are untouched. Nobody else can remove members.
