How Leaderboard Notifications Work
Players receive automatic notifications about their leaderboard performance, including welcome emails, monthly updates, milestones, and ranking changes. These notifications help players stay engaged with their club's competitive scene.
Welcome Email (First Game)
When a player completes their first match at your facility, they receive a welcome email introducing them to the leaderboard. The email links directly to your club's rankings page so they can see where they stand.
Players who have opted out of email notifications will not receive this message. See Club feed and announcements for more on player notification preferences.
Monthly Return Notification
When a player plays their first match of a new month (and has played before), they receive a push notification welcoming them back and confirming their stats are being tracked for the month.
Milestone Notifications
Players receive notifications when they reach win or match milestones:
Every 25 wins: at 25, 50, 75, 100 wins, and so on
Every 25 matches played: at 25, 50, 75, 100 matches, and so on
For example: "You just hit 50 wins at [Club Name]!"
Ranking Threshold Notifications
After each match, if a player moves into the top 100, top 50, top 25, top 10, or reaches #1 on the leaderboard, they receive a push notification.
This applies to all players in the match, not just the winner. Playing more matches can move you up on leaderboards sorted by total matches, points, or point rate — so both players in a match may see ranking changes worth celebrating.
Auto-Favorite Club
When a player registers for an event or a host manually assigns a username to a player from the Players tab, the player automatically becomes a member (favorite) of the club. This ensures they appear on the leaderboard and receive notifications.
Previously, manually assigning a username didn't trigger this membership. Now it does, and re-saving an existing player record will backfill any missing club memberships.
Weekly Snapshots
A weekly process captures leaderboard snapshots every Sunday. This powers historical tracking so players can see how their ranking changes over time on the club leaderboard.
