Pair a Stripe card reader for your front desk
Pair a Stripe card reader from your club's Card readers page so the front desk can take in-person card payments, such as membership dues and packages. You generate a pairing code on the reader, then enter it in Good Game Sports.
Before you start:
You need club admin access.
Your club must have Stripe connected. The Card readers option only appears once it is. See Connect Stripe.
The reader must be powered on and connected to Wi-Fi.
Always pair readers here, not in your Stripe dashboard. A reader paired directly in Stripe takes payments outside Good Game Sports, so they never reach your club's records.
Pair a reader
On your club page, open Settings, then Payments.
Click Card readers.
Click Add a reader (or Add another reader if you already have one).
On the reader, open its Settings and tap Generate pairing code, or key in 0-7-1-3-9.
Type the code into Pairing code, give the reader a Name (for example, Front counter), and click Add reader.
The first time your club pairs a reader, you may also be asked for your Club ZIP code. Stripe needs it to set up your club's reader location, and we only ask once.
If the code is rejected, generate a fresh code on the reader and try again. Each code works only once.
Check, reset, or remove a reader
The Card readers page lists every paired reader with its status: Online, Online · busy while a payment is in progress, or Offline. An offline reader usually needs power or Wi-Fi checked. Use the refresh button to update the status.
Open the menu next to a reader for these actions:
Reset reader: clears a reader stuck on a payment prompt, for example after it lost its network connection mid-payment.
Remove: takes the reader off your front desk. Past payments keep their records, and you can pair the same reader again later.
