Create a Rotating Partner Round Robin event manually
Create a Round Robin (Rotating Partners) event yourself with + Create Event when you manage the roster in Good Game Sports instead of CourtReserve.
Players enter as individuals and change partners each round, so registration never asks for a partner. For how the format works, including Mixed Gender Rotating Partners, see How Rotating Partner Round Robin works.
[!WARNING] An event created this way cannot be linked to CourtReserve later. If you need CourtReserve registration sync, use Create a Rotating Partner Round Robin event from CourtReserve instead.
Before you start
Club owner or host access in Good Game Sports
Your play dates and location
Your court count, if you want the schedule to fit a fixed number of courts
Step 1: Event details
From the dashboard, click + Create Event.
Under Basic Information, enter the Event Name.
Under Event Type & Format, set Event Type:
League — runs across multiple play dates, scheduled one date at a time
Tournament — multi-day competitive event, scheduled in one pass
Single Day Event — one session, scheduled in one pass
Set Format to Round Robin (Rotating Partners), or Mixed Gender Rotating Partners if every pair must be one male and one female.
Fill in Location Details (club, address, city, state) and Date and Time.
Optionally add an Event Image.
Choose your Registration Type and pricing, then continue.
[!INFO] Choose League if players attend on different dates. Leagues generate matches per play date, so each week only includes the players who opted in for that week. Tournaments and single day events generate every round at once from the players on the roster.
Step 2: Divisions
Divisions carry the format, so confirm it here even if you already set it on the first page.
Add a division, or turn on multiple divisions if you split by skill or age.
Set Division Type to Doubles.
Confirm the division Format is Round Robin (Rotating Partners) or Mixed Gender Rotating Partners. Each division can use a different format.
Set Gender and Max Participants as needed.
[!INFO] For Mixed Gender Rotating Partners, set the division Gender so male and female counts stay balanced. Uneven counts force some same-gender pairs.
Step 3: Description and publish
Fill in the description sections — Event Information, Rules, Logistics, Refund Policy, and Contact Information — then create the event.
Add players
Open the Players tab and add your roster:
+ Add Players to add people one at a time
Spreadsheet import to upload the whole roster at once
Imported players start with a waiting opt-in status, so set them to opted in before you generate matches for a play date.
[!INFO] Mixed Gender Rotating Partners needs a gender on each player profile. Players without one cannot be paired correctly.
What to check after you create it
The division format reads Round Robin (Rotating Partners).
The division type is Doubles.
Every player you expect appears on the Players tab and is opted in.
For leagues, your play dates are set before you generate the first round.
What to do next
Confirm your courts so the schedule fits the space you have — see Configure courts for Rotating Partner Round Robin.
Build the schedule:
Leagues: add your play dates, then generate one date at a time. See Manage rounds and play dates in Rotating Partner Round Robin and Generate matches by play date in a Rotating Partner Round Robin league.
Tournaments and single day events: generate every round at once. See Generate matches for Rotating Partner Round Robin.
