Getting started with Rotating Partner Round Robin

Run a Round Robin (Rotating Partners) event by creating the division, adding individual players, generating rounds, then managing courts and scores. Partners change each round automatically—players do not register as fixed teams.

Event lifecycle

Work through the event in this order. Open the linked article for the full steps at each stage.

1. Create the event. Choose format Round Robin (Rotating Partners) and division type Doubles.

• Create from CourtReserve — keeps registrations synced

• Create manually — you manage the roster

2. Add or sync players. Players enter as individuals, not teams. Sync from CourtReserve or add them on the Players tab before you generate matches. For leagues, set your play dates and collect opt-in first — see Manage rounds and play dates.

3. Set up courts. Decide how many courts the schedule should fit before you generate. See Configure courts for Rotating Partner Round Robin.

4. Generate matches. How this works depends on your event type:

• Tournaments and single day events build every round at once — see Generate matches for Rotating Partner Round Robin

• Leagues build one play date at a time — see Generate matches by play date

5. Score matches. Enter scores from each match card as rounds complete. See Score Rotating Partner matches.

6. Handle mid-event changes. Rosters change; the schedule can keep up.

• Edit player groups and regenerate — roster control and last-minute rebuilds

• Substitutes and player swaps — the pencil icon and registered substitutes

• Handle dropouts and regenerate — withdraw versus regenerate

• Add an extra game — fill a court gap

7. Read the results. Standings are tracked per player, not per team, and there is one standings table for the whole event—leagues included. Final placements are per player for the same reason. See the standings section of the walkthrough.

Good to know before you start

• Doubles only. The Division Type dropdown lists Singles, but this format has no singles schedule.

• Byes come from your player count. Any players left over after seating four per match sit that round. A group whose size divides by 4 has none.

• This format has no bracket stage. It runs as MATCHES and STANDINGS only—there is no knockout phase after the round robin.
