Create a Pecking Order event
Pecking Order runs as a League across multiple dates, or as a Single Day Event. Players register individually — partners change every round.
There is no player-count requirement beyond a minimum of four. Any number works, and you can leave registration open without landing on an unusable total.
Create from CourtReserve
Use this when the event already exists in CourtReserve and registrations should stay linked.
Before you start: club owner access in Good Game Sports, CourtReserve admin access, and a CourtReserve plan with API access (Scale or Enterprise). If the integration is not connected, complete Enable API access in CourtReserve and Connect CourtReserve first.
Open your club page, then click Manage Club.
Select CourtReserve Events.
Find your event under Unpublished. Events sync from 2 days in the past to 100 days in the future.
Click + Create Event on GGS.
Set Event Type to League or Single Day Event, Type to Doubles, and Format to Pecking Order.
Click Create Event.
An event created directly in Good Game Sports cannot be linked to CourtReserve later. If you want registration sync, start from CourtReserve.
Create directly in Good Game Sports
From the dashboard, click + Create Event.
Enter the Event Name and set Event Type to League or Single Day Event.
Set Format to Pecking Order.
Fill in Location Details and Date and Time.
Choose your Registration Type and pricing, then continue.
On the divisions step set Division Type to Doubles and confirm the format.
Complete the description sections, then create the event.
Add players
Players enter individually; there is no partner to record. Import a spreadsheet, use + Add Players, or sync from CourtReserve.
For CourtReserve-linked events, go to the Players tab and click Sync CR. See Sync players into an event.
Add ratings if you want a rated first round
The opening round is seeded, and you choose the basis when you generate it: DUPR, anchor rating, or random. The re-ranking from round 2 onward runs on results either way.
If you intend to seed by DUPR or anchor, add those ratings before the first session. Players without a rating are treated as unrated and sort to the bottom of the seeding.
Courts
Your court count sets how many players are on court each round. Four players fill one court, so eight courts carry 32 players at once.
When you have more players than courts, the surplus sits out that round and rotates back in. This is why the format tolerates any roster size — see Court management in Ladder formats.
For leagues, set up the season
Add your play dates — see Managing rounds and dates in Ladder formats.
Configure the opt-in deadline — each session is built from who opted in. Unlike the formats with strict counts, a week that lands on an awkward number still generates. See League opt-in.
