Generating a triple elimination bracket
Generate the bracket after your teams are set. The system builds the winners bracket, consolation bracket, and last chance bracket in one step.
Generate the bracket
Create your event.
In Step 1, choose Triple Elimination from the format dropdown under Bracket Style Formats.
Set up your divisions in Step 2.
Add your description and rules in Step 3, then submit.
Add players to the tournament.
Open the Bracket tab for the division.
Tap the admin menu in the top-right.
Select Generate Bracket.
What happens when you generate
The system creates Main Draw, Consolation, and Last Chance tabs.
The bracket supports 4, 8, 16, or 32 slots.
Winners and losers are routed automatically as scores are entered.
Players can follow their path through the three tabs.
For more detail on how teams move through the bracket, see How triple elimination brackets work.
For more detail on seed order and byes, see How seeding and byes work in bracket formats.
What you see after generation
The bracket opens with Main Draw, Consolation, and Last Chance tabs. Matches can be scored as soon as both teams are set.
Use the button to the right of the rightmost tab to switch to one scrollable view with all three brackets shown together. Tap it again to return to the tabbed view.
You can still update the bracket after generation. See Editing bracket matches, Managing the match queue in bracket formats, and Court management in bracket formats.
Clear and generate again
Clearing the bracket is irreversible. All bracket scores are removed.
Open the admin menu.
Select Clear Knockout Bracket.
Confirm.
Select Generate Bracket again.
If you generate again after matches have been completed, the app warns you before the bracket is reset.
Triple elimination requires more court time than double elimination. For example, an 8-team draw is about 20 matches, compared with about 15 for double elimination.
