Generating a single elimination bracket
Build a single elimination bracket after your teams are in. You set the seed order, and the app places seeds and byes for you.
Generate the bracket
Add all teams to the division first — the bracket is built from the roster as it stands.
Open the Knockout tab.
Tap the Admin button.
Select Generate Bracket.
Set the seed order in the seeding step.
Confirm.
Set the seed order
Unlike the pool-play formats, a standalone single elimination bracket has no standings to seed from — so you order the teams yourself before generating.
Put the strongest team first and work down. The app takes that order and applies standard placement: top seed against the lowest, second against the second-lowest, and so on, so the two best seeds can only meet in the final.
If seeding does not matter for your event, any order works — the bracket is still valid, the matchups just are not weighted.
What the app builds
Rounds down to a single champion, halving each round
Byes in any unused slots, given to the top seeds
A bronze match when both semifinals are real matchups
Bye matches auto-advanced, so nothing needs scoring to move a team through
For how placement and byes are decided, see How seeding and byes work in bracket formats.
After generating
Score matches from the bracket cards — winners advance automatically. See Scoring bracket matches.
Assign courts as matches become ready. Bracket formats do not auto-assign, so you place matches on courts yourself — see Court management in bracket formats.
To fix a wrong team in a slot, see Editing bracket matches.
Rebuild the bracket
Use Clear Knockout Bracket from the Admin menu, then generate again with a new seed order.
Clearing removes every bracket match and score, and cannot be undone.
