Create a bracket event

Setting up an event is the same for every bracket format. Pick the bracket type at creation, add your teams, then generate.

All four support singles or doubles divisions. In singles each team is one player; in doubles each team is a pair.

If you want group play before the bracket, choose a Round Robin to… format instead — pool play seeds the bracket automatically. See Round Robin to Bracket.

Create from CourtReserve

Use this when the event already exists in CourtReserve and registrations should stay linked.

Before you start: club owner access in Good Game Sports, CourtReserve admin access, and a CourtReserve plan with API access (Scale or Enterprise). If the integration is not set up, complete Enable API access in CourtReserve and Connect CourtReserve first.

  1. Open your club page, then click Manage Club.

  2. Select CourtReserve Events.

  3. Find your event under Unpublished. Events sync from 2 days in the past to 100 days in the future.

  4. Click + Create Event on GGS.

  5. In the Create GGS Event dialog set the Event Type, choose Singles or Doubles, and pick your bracket format.

  6. Click Create Event.

An event created directly in Good Game Sports cannot be linked to CourtReserve later. If you want registration sync, start from CourtReserve.

Create directly in Good Game Sports

  1. From the dashboard, click + Create Event.

  2. Enter the Event Name, then set the Event Type.

  3. Set Format to your bracket type.

  4. Fill in Location Details and Date and Time.

  5. Choose your Registration Type and pricing, then continue.

  6. On the divisions step, set Division Type to Singles or Doubles and confirm the format.

  7. Complete the description sections, then create the event.

Add teams

The bracket is built from the roster as it stands when you generate, so get everyone in first.

  • Spreadsheet import — fastest for a full field. For doubles, include both partners per row so each arrives as a complete team.

  • + Add Players — add people individually, then use the pencil icon on a player to set their partner.

  • Sync CR — pulls registrations on CourtReserve-linked events. See Sync players into an event.

Before you generate

  • Everyone is in. Teams added after generating are not in the bracket — you would have to clear and regenerate.

  • Partners are set for doubles divisions.

  • Courts are configured if you want to assign them as play starts. See Court management in bracket formats.

  • You know your seed order. Standalone brackets are seeded by hand, so decide the order before you open the dialog.
