Getting started with Round Robin to Bracket

Run pool play, then seed a playoff bracket from the pool standings. Covers Round Robin to Single Elimination, Round Robin to Double Elimination, and Round Robin to Compass — the pool stage is the same for all three, only the bracket differs.

Event lifecycle

1. Create the event. Pick your bracket variant at creation — you cannot change it later. See Create a Round Robin to Bracket event.

2. Add teams as fixed pairs. Import a spreadsheet with both partners per row, set partners with the pencil icon, or sync from CourtReserve. Pair everyone before generating.

3. Run pool play. This stage is a standard set-partner round robin. Use the Round Robin (Set Partners) articles — the dialogs are identical:

• Generate matches

• Configure courts

• Edit groups and regenerate

• Score matches

4. Finish scoring pools. Do this before generating the bracket, or the seeding will be wrong.

5. Generate the bracket. Choose how many teams advance. See Generate the playoff bracket.

6. Run the playoff. Winners advance as you score. See Run the bracket and enter scores.

7. Publish results. Use Viewing Final Placements once the final is scored.

Good to know before you start

• Score pools first. The app warns if pool matches are unscored but still lets you generate. The bracket seeds once and does not re-seed when pool results change later.

• "Finals + Third Place Only" has no semifinals. The top two go straight to the gold final and 3rd/4th straight to bronze. For a top-4 knockout with semifinals, use Pick Total Number of Teams and choose 4.

• The bracket is safe to rebuild. Clearing it removes only knockout matches — pool scores and standings are untouched.

• Singles works. All three variants support singles or doubles divisions.

• Byes fill uneven brackets. Teams with a bye advance without playing.
