Pair rounds and fix matchups
Everything a host does during the season lives on the Matches tab, in the admin menu at the top. The arrows next to the round number move between rounds, and the menu always acts on the round you are looking at.
Pair a round
Pair Round N builds the round: every entrant gets one opponent and one play-by date.
Pairing is by ladder position — neighbours play neighbours. With an odd number of entrants one of them draws a bye, and the bye rotates so the same entrant does not sit out twice running.
Round 1 also fixes the starting order. If nobody has set one by hand, it is seeded from DUPR, highest first, with unrated entrants at the bottom.
Pair a round when you are ready for people to start arranging matches — usually shortly before it opens. There is no need to pair the whole season in advance, and pairing later means the ladder is more current when the round is built.
Re-pair a round
Re-pair Round N throws the round's pairings away and builds them again from the current ladder. It asks for confirmation first, because it discards the matchups that are there.
Use it when something changed after you paired — someone joined, someone withdrew, or you corrected the order.
Once any match in the round has a score, the round can no longer be re-paired. You will be told so rather than losing a result. Fix individual matchups with the pencil from then on, or clear the scores first if the whole round really has to be rebuilt.
Change one matchup
To fix a single pairing rather than rebuild the round, tap the pencil on the side of the match card you want to change and pick the entrant who should be there.
If the entrant you pick already has a match this round, you are asked which you meant:
Swap — the two trade places. Everybody still has a match.
Change — they move into this match, and the two entrants they displace sit the round out.
A match that has already been scored cannot be re-pointed at someone else. Clear the score first.
Add a match by hand
Add Game creates a blank extra match in the round; you then name each side with the pencils on the card, the same way you would fix any other matchup. Use it for a match that was agreed off-platform, or for a make-up game.
It scores as an extra match rather than as the round's assigned one, and it does not spend anyone's challenge allowance — that limit only applies to challenges players start themselves.
Courts
A Challenge Ladder does not assign courts: the two sides pick where they play. Configure courts simply gives the division a list of court names, so whoever enters the score can record which court it was played on. It is optional.
Scores
Either side can enter the result, and so can you. Every result re-scores the whole division, so a late score or a correction lands in the ladder correctly whenever it arrives — you never have to enter results in order or fix the ladder up afterwards. What each result is worth is set out in How scoring works in Challenge Ladder.
Round dates
Manage Round Dates is in the same menu — see Set round dates on a Challenge Ladder.
