How Promotion/Relegation League works
Teams play a round robin inside their group, then a playoff week decides who moves up a group and who moves down. That repeats, and the season finishes with a seeded knockout bracket.

The shape
By default: 4 groups of 4 teams — 16 teams in total. Group size is configurable, and the team count follows from it.
Groups are lettered from the top down — Group A is the strongest. Teams register as fixed pairs and keep the same partner throughout.
The season in blocks
The season runs in blocks, two by default. Each block is:
A round robin inside your group — every team plays every other once
A playoff week that decides movement between groups
After the playoff, groups are rearranged and the next block begins.
Everything about the calendar derives from your group size:
Round robin length = group size − 1
Block length = that, plus one playoff week
Groups of 4 give a 3-week round robin and a 4-week block. Groups of 5 give 4 and 5. Nothing is fixed to particular week numbers — change the group size and the whole schedule shifts.
What the playoff decides
In every group, the top two teams play each other and the bottom two play each other.
Winner of the top match is promoted up a group
Loser of the bottom match is relegated down a group
The other two stay
Group A cannot promote out of the top and the bottom group cannot relegate out of the bottom, so their matches only set standing.

The bracket finish
After the final block, the season ends with a single-elimination bracket.
Seeding is banded by group — every Group A team seeds above every Group B team, and so on — with a fixed order inside each band based on the playoff results. It is not a straight standings sort, and a team relegated into a group seeds at the top of it.
The bracket is on by default and can be turned off if you would rather finish on the final block's standings.
How it differs from Season Points League
Both are set-partner leagues with promotion and relegation, and they are easy to confuse:

The short version: Season Points League rewards consistency across the whole season, while Promotion/Relegation League builds toward a bracket and settles movement in playoff weeks.
