How Season Points League works
In a Season Points League (Set Partners), teams are split into skill tiers. Every week each tier plays its own round robin, the top teams promote and the bottom teams relegate, and every team banks season points for where it finished in its tier. Season points accumulate all season and decide the champion.

The shape
The default is 3 tiers of 5 teams (Gold, Silver and Bronze), so 15 teams. Teams register as fixed pairs and keep the same partner all season.
You can choose 2 to 8 tiers and 3 to 10 teams per tier in the League Structure dialog when you generate Week 1. You need exactly tiers × teams per tier fully partnered teams. With exactly three tiers they are named Gold, Silver and Bronze; otherwise Tier 1, Tier 2 and so on, with Tier 1 at the top. You can rename tiers at any time with Rename Tiers.
A week
Every team plays a round robin inside its own tier: with 5 teams that is 4 matches each.
You enter the scores.
You choose Advance to Week N. Promotion and relegation apply, season points are awarded, and the next week's round robins are created.
Weekly standings reset every week. Only season points carry forward.
Promotion and relegation
When you advance, the top finishers in each tier move up one tier and the bottom finishers move down one. You choose how many move, fresh each week. The most you can pick is 1 with 3 or 4 teams per tier, 2 with 5 or 6, 3 with 7 or 8, and 4 with 9 or 10, so the promoting and relegating teams never overlap.
The top tier cannot promote and the bottom tier cannot relegate.
Season points
Each week, every team earns points for where it finished within its tier. Higher tiers pay more, so climbing is rewarded. The default 3 × 5 table:

Winning Bronze (17) is worth less than finishing 4th in Gold (18).
For any other shape we calculate the table for you when you generate: the top tier's winner earns about 38, each tier pays about two thirds of the tier above, and points drop with each place. You don't enter a table yourself.
Season points are recalculated from every completed week, so re-running an advance never double-counts. An admin can correct a team's total from the Season Points standings view.
The champion
The champion is the team with the most season points at the end, not necessarily the team in the top tier in the final week. A team that won Silver every week can out-point one that scraped through Gold.
