Create a Season Points League

Create a Season Points League as a League event with the format Season Points League (Set Partners) and a Doubles division. Teams register as fixed pairs; you choose the tier structure later, when you generate Week 1.

This format was previously called Tier League (Set Partners).

Create the event

You need club admin access. If the event already exists in CourtReserve and registrations should stay linked, create it from CourtReserve instead (see Create a GGS event from a CourtReserve event). An event created directly in Good Game Sports can't be linked to CourtReserve later.

  1. Open your club page and click Create Event.

  2. Enter the Event Name and set Event Type to League.

  3. Set Format to Season Points League (Set Partners).

  4. Fill in location, dates, registration type and pricing.

  5. On the divisions step, set Division Type to Doubles, then create the event.

Plan your team count

You need exactly tiers × teams per tier fully partnered teams. The default is 3 tiers of 5 (Gold, Silver, Bronze), so 15 teams. You can pick 2 to 8 tiers and 3 to 10 teams per tier in the League Structure dialog when you tap Generate League (Week 1); we calculate the season points table for any shape. Set your registration limit to match, since the league won't generate with too many or too few teams.

Add teams

Every player needs a partner before you generate; players without one don't count as a team.

  • Spreadsheet import with both partners on each row is fastest.

  • Add players individually and use the pencil icon to set each player's partner.

  • CourtReserve sync pulls registrations into the Players tab (see Sync players into an event).

How week 1 tiers are filled

When you generate Week 1, we fill the tiers top tier first without sorting teams by rating. To put teams where you want them, use Edit Groups in the admin menu after generating and before any Week 1 score is entered. Saving rebuilds that week's round robins.

Set up the season

A new league has 6 weeks. Add play dates to lengthen the season or remove them to shorten it, and set your opt-in deadline (see League opt-in).
