Adjust the ladder by hand
Sometimes the ladder needs a human. A player was in the wrong court all week, someone should not have dropped, a new player needs slotting in mid-season. There are two different ways to override it, and they behave differently.
Pin one player
Hand-place a single player and lock them there. Drag them to the position you want, or set it from the group editor.
What happens next time you generate:
Movement still runs for everyone else — results are applied as normal.
The pinned player holds their chosen rank.
Unpinned players weave around the pin.
This is the option you want most of the time. One correction stays one correction, and the rest of the league keeps moving on results.
The pin is consumed when the next round is generated. It is a one-time placement, not a permanent lock — pin again if you need it to stick another week.
Override the whole seed
The heavier option. When you hand-set the next round's order — reordering broadly, or restructuring in the group editor — the app records that the seed was set manually.
Next time you generate, it trusts the live ladder as-is instead of recomputing movement over it. Nobody moves on results that week; the order you set is the order used.
Like a pin, the override is consumed by that generation. The following week goes back to normal movement.
Which one you want
Situation | Use |
|---|---|
One player is in the wrong place | Pin that player |
A new player joins mid-season | Pin them into a sensible slot |
You have re-seeded the whole division | Seed override |
You want results ignored for one week | Seed override |
The difference in one line: a pin is per-player and lets movement run; a seed override is division-wide and suspends movement for a round.
A seed override means nobody moves on results that week. If you only meant to fix one player, pin instead — otherwise a whole week's results have no effect on the ladder.
Moving players between courts
Court membership is edited from the group editor. Moving a player between courts changes which court they play on next round; it does not by itself change their ladder rank, which is what the standings order and future movement are built from.
If you want a player both moved and re-ranked, set their position rather than only changing their court. See Editing groups in Ladder formats.
