Adjust the ladder by hand
Sometimes the ladder needs a human. A player was in the wrong court all week, someone should not have dropped, a new player needs slotting in mid-season. Hand-place them, and the app holds them at that spot while everyone else keeps moving on results.
Hold a player at a spot
Drag the player to the position you want in the Standings, or set their rank in Edit Groups. Their row then shows Held at this spot.
While a player is held:
Movement still runs for everyone else — results are applied as normal.
The held player keeps their chosen rank. Saving scores and tapping Update standings do not move them.
Everyone else weaves around them.
How long a hold lasts
A hold lasts one round. Generating the next round places the held player on a court from their held spot, then releases the hold. From then on, their results move them like anyone else.
Regenerating the current round also releases holds. Regenerating an older round does not.
To keep a player at a spot for another week, hand-place them again after the new round is generated.
Example
Week 1 is played. Before generating week 2, you drag Sam to #15.
You generate week 2. Everyone else moves on their week 1 results; Sam starts week 2 at #15.
Sam's week 2 results move Sam up or down for week 3, like everyone else.
Release a hold early
Tap Held at this spot on the player's row in the Standings. The hold is released and the standings recompute straight away, so the player moves on their results again.
If Update standings seems to do nothing for a player, check for a hold. Update standings never releases one — tap the marker instead.
Re-seeding many players
Every player you hand-place is held, so re-seeding a large part of the division holds each player you moved. Players you did not touch still move on results.
Moving players between courts
Court membership is edited from the group editor. Moving a player to another court also moves their ladder rank when you save: the ladder is re-sorted so each court is a block in court order, keeping players' order within a court.
