Create a Ladder League event
Ladder Leagues are always League events — they run across multiple weeks with players opting in per date.
Choose your variant
Ladder League — players register individually and rotate partners within their court each week.
Ladder League (Set Partners) — players register as fixed pairs and keep the same partner all season.
See How Ladder League works for the difference in detail.
Create from CourtReserve
Use this when the event already exists in CourtReserve and registrations should stay linked.
Before you start: club owner access in Good Game Sports, CourtReserve admin access, and a CourtReserve plan with API access (Scale or Enterprise). If the integration is not connected, complete Enable API access in CourtReserve and Connect CourtReserve first.
Open your club page, then click Manage Club.
Select CourtReserve Events.
Find your event under Unpublished. Events sync from 2 days in the past to 100 days in the future.
Click + Create Event on GGS.
In the Create GGS Event dialog set Event Type to League, Type to Doubles, and choose your ladder variant as the Format.
Click Create Event.
An event created directly in Good Game Sports cannot be linked to CourtReserve later. If you want registration sync, start from CourtReserve.
Create directly in Good Game Sports
From the dashboard, click + Create Event.
Enter the Event Name and set Event Type to League.
Set Format to your ladder variant.
Fill in Location Details and Date and Time.
Choose your Registration Type and pricing, then continue.
On the divisions step set Division Type to Doubles and confirm the format.
Complete the description sections, then create the event.
Add players
Ladder League — players enter individually. Import a spreadsheet, use + Add Players, or sync from CourtReserve.
Ladder League (Set Partners) — players enter as pairs, so the roster needs to record who is with whom. A spreadsheet with both partners per row is fastest; otherwise use the pencil icon on a player to set their partner.
For CourtReserve-linked events, go to the Players tab and click Sync CR. See Sync players into an event.
Set up the season before round 1
Three things are worth doing before you generate anything:
Add your play dates. Each week is a date, and the opt-in deadline counts back from it. See Managing rounds and dates in Ladder formats.
Configure the opt-in deadline. Ladder Leagues run on who opted in for that week, so set the deadline and any reminders. See League opt-in.
Configure your courts. Court count drives how the app sizes each week's groups.
Decide these settings early
Two division settings shape how the league feels, and changing them mid-season changes the ladder's behavior:
Movement — how many players move up and down per court each week. Default 2.
Absence penalty — on by default. See The absence penalty in Ladder League.
Also decide your scoring type now. If you want movement to follow games rather than matches, set it before the first round is scored — see How movement works in Ladder League.
