Bye Mode for Ladder Leagues

When your ladder league has an odd number of players or teams that don't divide evenly into groups, some participants sit out each round. Bye Mode controls how the system chooses who sits out.

How the two modes work

By Position (default)

The lowest-ranked players or teams sit out each round. This is the default behavior — if you don't change the setting, your ladder works the same way it did before.

By Rotation

Everyone takes turns sitting out evenly. The system tracks who has had the most byes and picks the player or team who has sat out the least. This prevents anyone from repeatedly sitting out while others keep playing.

Where to set Bye Mode

You'll see the Bye Mode option when generating rounds:

  • New Session: When you tap "New Session" to generate the next round, the Bye Mode option appears at the bottom of the dialog.

  • Auto-Generation: When you enable auto-generation, the same Bye Mode option appears and carries forward for all auto-generated rounds.

Supported formats

Bye Mode is available for:

  • Ladder League Individual

  • Ladder League Teams

  • Humpty Dumpty Individual

  • Humpty Dumpty Teams
