Generate a round in a ladder format (sorting options)
In Ladder League, Up and Down the River, Humpty Dumpty, Crazy 8's, Cream of the Crop and Pecking Order, you generate each round from the Matches tab: tap Set Groups and Generate Matches on an empty round, or open the Admin menu and tap Generate followed by the round's name (for example Generate Week 3). You then pick a sorting method in Start Games - Select Method.
Generate a round
On the Matches tab, tap Set Groups and Generate Matches, or tap Admin and then Generate for the round.
In Start Games - Select Method, choose a sorting method (below).
Optional: tick One group per court to split players evenly across your configured courts, or in Ladder League set Courts. If someone will sit out, choose a Bye Mode.
Tap Continue.
Review the groups in Edit Player Groups, then tap Looks Good, or Save & Generate if you moved anyone.
If the round already has matches, the Admin menu shows Regenerate instead; confirming clears that round's matches and scores before building it again.
Choose a sorting method
Which options appear depends on the format and on what data the division has.
From Previous Round Results: continue the ladder from the last round's results. Shown once the previous round has matches. Cream of the Crop shows Top Performers → Top Courts instead.
Random: distribute players randomly. Always available.
By Standings: order players by current standings, or by another division's standings. Shown when there are results to sort on. In Crazy 8's it orders by rating, and in Pecking Order it seeds at random.
From a Previous Event: round 1 only, in Ladder League, Up and Down the River and Cream of the Crop. Places returning players in the order they finished in an earlier event at your club. See Seed the first round from a previous event.
By Event Rank: Ladder League only. Each player carries one rank number that moves by finishing position (1st +3, 2nd +1, 3rd −1, 4th −3); needs a multiple of 4 players, minimum 8. See How to run a ladder league with "By Event Rank".
By DUPR Rating: highest rated on the top court. Shown only when at least one player has a DUPR or estimated rating.
Once the previous round has matches, the dialog lists the starting-fresh options under Or start fresh with new sorting:. Picking one rebuilds the whole field from that order instead of carrying results forward.
Round 1 versus later rounds
For round 1, use Random, By Standings, From a Previous Event or By DUPR Rating. For round 2 and later, use From Previous Round Results (or Top Performers → Top Courts in Cream of the Crop) so the ladder progresses on results.
In Ladder League and Crazy 8's, how many players move up and down each round (1 or 2) is the Player Movement setting in Ladder League Configuration.
