Substitutes in Round Robin (Set Partners)
When a player cannot make a session, register a substitute against them from the Players tab and pick the dates or rounds the stand-in covers. The team stays intact, so you do not need to re-pair anyone or regenerate the schedule.
Use this rather than swapping partners whenever the original player is coming back. To replace someone for the rest of the event, see Replace a partner for the rest of the event below.
Register a substitute
Go to the Players tab and find the player who is out.
Tap the substitute icon on their row.
Enter the Substitute Name. Names you have used before are suggested as you type, so you do not create duplicates.
Optionally set a Points Deduction, and choose the standings options described below.
Under Select Dates for Substitute in a league, or Select Rounds for Substitute in a single-day event, tick the sessions the stand-in covers.
Save.
The substitute can only play the dates or rounds you ticked. Outside those, they are not eligible, and registering someone in advance costs the team nothing until the sub actually plays.
How substitute results hit the standings
Standings in this format rank teams, because the partnership is fixed for the whole event. That makes the two standings toggles behave differently here than in rotating partner events, where standings rank individuals.
Win Does Not Count
Turning this on removes the whole team from the standings for any match their substitute played — not just the player who was replaced. Their partner loses the result too, because the team is the thing being ranked.
The opposing team is unaffected and keeps the result in full, unless they also played with a substitute in that match.
This is the main difference from rotating partner events. There, only the player who registered the substitute is skipped and their partner for the round still gets full credit.
Penalize Wins
This is a much narrower rule, and it only appears when your division uses individual-game scoring.
It applies only when Win Does Not Count is off. The two do not stack.
Both partners must have played with a substitute in the same match, and both must have the option enabled. A team playing with a single substitute is never penalized.
Exactly one game win is voided for that match, and only if the team won at least one game in it.
The opposing team is not affected.
Replace a partner for the rest of the event
Registering a substitute assumes the original player returns. When someone is gone for good, change the partnership instead.
Add the incoming player on the Players tab.
Edit that player and set their partner to the teammate who is staying. This creates the new pairing.
Rebuild the schedule from Edit groups and regenerate, or fix individual matchups if only a few rounds are affected.
Set the partner before you touch matches. Adding the new player and regenerating first leaves them unpaired, and the team comes out wrong.
