Generate matches for Round Robin (Set Partners)
Generate the round robin schedule from the Matches tab: open Admin, choose Generate Matches, set the format and groups, then confirm. Teams keep their partner throughout, so the schedule pairs teams against teams.
Generate matches
Open the Matches tab.
Tap the Admin button.
Select Generate Matches.
Work through the settings below.
Tap Continue, then Confirm.
Format
Choose how many times teams meet inside their group:
Single Round Robin — every team plays every other team once
Double Round Robin — every team plays every other team twice
Custom Rounds — you set the exact number of rounds
A full single round robin needs one round fewer than the number of teams — 8 teams take 7 rounds. With an odd number of teams it takes as many rounds as there are teams, because one team sits out each round. Double round robin doubles those totals.
Number of groups
Split teams into separate pools. Twelve teams could run as two groups of six. Leave it at 1 to keep everyone in one pool.
Smaller pools mean each team gets through its whole group in fewer rounds, and let you seed by ability so matches stay competitive.
Pool assignment
Only appears when you have more than one group.
Random — teams are distributed automatically
Choose Pools — teams are placed randomly first, then you drag and drop to rearrange before play starts
Restrict to Courts
Only appears when courts are configured. Off by default.
Turn it on to cap each round at your court count. With more teams than courts, the extra teams get a bye that round instead of waiting. Leave it off if matches can wait for a court to free up and the round can run longer.
Cross-group play
When you have multiple groups, you can let teams face opponents from other groups.
With cross-group play off (the default), teams only ever play inside their own group. With it on, the app treats every group as one combined pool when building matches — teams can be matched against anyone, while standings still rank them within their own group.
Use it when you want groups for seeding and standings but a wider variety of opponents than a small pool can offer. The option appears on leagues, in the regenerate dialog.
Byes
Byes happen for two reasons in this format:
An odd number of teams in a group — one team sits each round, rotating through the group.
Restrict to Courts — when there are more matches than courts, the surplus teams sit.
A bye is not a loss. It simply means that team played one fewer match.
Clear before regenerating
You cannot generate on top of a round that already has matches. Clear the round first, then generate again.
Tap Admin, then Clear Round.
Choose the round and confirm.
Run Generate Matches again.
Clearing a round deletes its matches and scores.
