Create a Round Robin (Set Partners) event

Create a Standard Round Robin (Set Partners) event from CourtReserve when registrations should stay synced, or directly in Good Game Sports when you manage the roster yourself. In both cases pick the format Standard Round Robin (Set Partners). Teams register as fixed pairs and keep the same partner all event.

Create from CourtReserve

Use this path when the event already exists in CourtReserve and you want registrations to stay linked. Follow Create a GGS event from a CourtReserve event and choose Standard Round Robin (Set Partners) as the format, with Doubles for pairs or Singles.

An event created directly in Good Game Sports can't be linked to CourtReserve later. If you want registration sync, start from CourtReserve.

Create directly in Good Game Sports

  1. On your club page, click Create Event.

  2. Under Basic Information, enter the event name.

  3. Under Event Type & Format, set Event Type to League, Tournament or Single Day Event, and set the format to Standard Round Robin (Set Partners).

  4. Fill in Location Details, the date and time, and your Registration Type.

  5. On the divisions step, set Division Type to Doubles or Singles.

  6. Finish the remaining steps and create the event.

Choose League when the event runs across several play dates; players then opt in per date instead of checking in on the day.

Add teams

Because partners are fixed, the roster has to record who plays with whom.

  • Spreadsheet upload: give each player their own row and put their partner's name in the Member Partner column. Naming the partner on one of the two rows is enough; if both rows name a partner, they must name each other.

  • Add players one at a time: use the pencil icon on a player to set their partner.

  • CourtReserve: registrations sync in; see Sync players into an event.

  • GGS Registration: players name their partner when they sign up; see Register with a partner, and who pays.

In a doubles division, a player without a partner is left out when you generate matches, not paired with someone. Check that every team shows both partners on the Players tab first.

What happens next

  1. Optionally configure courts so rounds fit your court count.

  2. Build the schedule with Generate matches for Round Robin (Set Partners).

  3. When pool play is done, you can run a playoff from the KNOCKOUT tab with Generate Bracket.

For a double elimination or Compass playoff, create the event as Round Robin to Double Elimination or Round Robin to Compass instead.
