Captain permissions in team events
Captain permissions let team captains manage their own lineup and, if enabled, enter scores for their team's matches. Use these settings to give captains match-day flexibility without giving them access to event administration.
Captain permissions depend on the settings in Configure team scoring. Captains can only edit lineups when Lock lineup is off, and they can only enter scores when captain scoring is enabled.
What captains can do
View their team's lineup at any time.
Edit their team's lineup when Lock lineup is off.
Enter scores for their team's matches when Allow captains to enter scores is on.
Edit team lineups
When lineup editing is available, captains can open the lineup editor from the captain view or the team players view. They can assign players to each line for upcoming rounds and choose whether to apply the lineup to one round or all incomplete matches.
For the host workflow, see Edit team lineups by round.
When lineup editing is locked
If the host turns on Lock lineup, captains can still view the lineup but cannot change it. The lineup view shows a lock icon and a message that lineup editing has been locked by the tournament administrator.
Hosts can turn the setting off at any time to allow captain edits again.
Enter scores
When captain scoring is enabled, captains can submit scores for matches involving their own team. The score uses the same validation as admin-entered scores.
For the full scoring flow, see Score team matches.
What captains cannot do
Edit another team's lineup.
Change matchups or the schedule.
Change event settings.
Add or remove players from the event.
If you need to control lineup access or score entry, update the event settings in Configure team scoring.
