Let players register without an account (guest checkout)
Guest checkout lets someone register for an event without creating a Good Game Sports account first. Turn on Enable Guest Checkout when you create the event; it can't be changed afterwards. It works for paid and free events that use GGS Registration.
Guest checkout is set once, while you create the event. In Edit Event the control is locked, so decide before you create the event.
What guest checkout does
When guest checkout is enabled, a player can open the registration page, enter their details, and pay without signing in. After payment succeeds (or straight away, for a free event), the registration appears in your registrant list like any other entry.
If guest checkout is off, visitors who aren't signed in are asked to sign in before they can register.
How to enable guest checkout
The setting appears on events that use GGS Registration. It isn't offered for cash-prize events or events where players pay the organizer directly.
Start creating the event and set Registration Type to GGS Registration.
Set Enable Guest Checkout to Yes.
Finish creating the event and share the registration page as usual.
What players see during guest checkout
Guests go through the same three steps as everyone else:
Event Info: the player picks a division and adds their partner, if the division needs one.
Player Details: the player types their first and last name, email, phone number, and birthday.
Review & Payment: the player checks the total and pays by card. A free event skips the card.
What to expect as a host
Because a guest has no Good Game Sports profile, some things that normally happen on their own fall to you, such as sorting out partner assignments. The app shows this reminder when you turn the setting on.
Guest checkout limitations
Guests can't register as free agents.
Guests can't join a waitlist; a full division needs a signed-in player.
To choose your overall registration method, see Creating an Event in GGS. To have a guest set up their account later, point them to Helping Players Get Started.
