Create a Humpty Dumpty event
Humpty Dumpty runs as a League — multiple weeks, with players opting in per date.
Choose your variant
Humpty Dumpty (Individual) — players register individually and get a new partner every round.
Humpty Dumpty (Set Partners) — players register as fixed pairs and stay together.
The movement rules are the same in both. See How Humpty Dumpty works.
Create from CourtReserve
Use this when the event already exists in CourtReserve and registrations should stay linked.
Before you start: club owner access in Good Game Sports, CourtReserve admin access, and a CourtReserve plan with API access (Scale or Enterprise). If the integration is not connected, complete Enable API access in CourtReserve and Connect CourtReserve first.
Open your club page, then click Manage Club.
Select CourtReserve Events.
Find your event under Unpublished. Events sync from 2 days in the past to 100 days in the future.
Click + Create Event on GGS.
Set Event Type to League, Type to Doubles, and pick your variant as the Format.
Click Create Event.
An event created directly in Good Game Sports cannot be linked to CourtReserve later. If you want registration sync, start from CourtReserve.
Create directly in Good Game Sports
From the dashboard, click + Create Event.
Enter the Event Name and set Event Type to League.
Set Format to your variant.
Fill in Location Details and Date and Time.
Choose your Registration Type and pricing, then continue.
On the divisions step set Division Type to Doubles and confirm the format.
Complete the description sections, then create the event.
Add players
Individual — players enter on their own. Import a spreadsheet, use + Add Players, or sync from CourtReserve.
Set Partners — players enter as pairs, so the roster needs to record who is with whom. A spreadsheet with both partners per row is fastest; otherwise use the pencil icon on a player to set their partner.
For CourtReserve-linked events, go to the Players tab and click Sync CR. See Sync players into an event.
Think about your numbers
Courts hold four players and play one match a round, so roster size matters.
A roster divisible by 4 fills every court with nobody sitting out.
Anything else leaves a bye group. That is normal and handled automatically — see Byes in Humpty Dumpty.
In the set-partners variant, think in pairs — two pairs per court, so 8, 16 and 24 players fill cleanly.
How many courts you run changes the format's character. The fall only happens on the top court, so a league with three courts punishes a top-court loss far more than one with eight — falling from Court 1 to Court 3 is a smaller setback than falling to Court 8. More courts makes the top more precarious.
Set up the season before round 1
Add your play dates. Each week is a date, and the opt-in deadline counts back from it. See Managing rounds and dates in Ladder formats.
Configure the opt-in deadline. Rounds are built from whoever opted in that week. See League opt-in.
Configure your courts, and decide your Bye Mode when you first generate.
Review Ladder League Configuration for game scoring per court size and partner match settings. See Ladder League Configuration settings.
