Handle dropouts and regenerate Rotating Partner Round Robin
When a player drops out of a Rotating Partner Round Robin mid-event, move them to Excluded, save, then regenerate from the next unplayed round so remaining partners and matchups rebuild without wiping completed scores.
Group changes after matches exist do not update matchups automatically. You must withdraw or regenerate after you save.
In this format, groups contain individual players because partners change each round. For how the format works, see How Rotating Partner Round Robin works.
Move the player to Excluded
Open group editing from the matches page and drag the dropout into Excluded.
On the matches page, tap the admin button.
Select Edit Groups or Edit Player Groups.
Review the current groups and the Excluded section.
Drag the player into Excluded. Use search if you need to find them quickly.
Tap Save Changes.
You can also drag players between groups to rebalance before you save. Tap + to add a group, or tap X on an empty group to remove it—a group must be empty before you can delete it.
In a league, group editing applies to the play date you are currently viewing, so confirm the date on screen before you exclude anyone. In a single day event or tournament it applies to the whole event.
Choose Withdraw or Regenerate
After you save, choose how the schedule should update. The confirmation shows which players are affected.
Withdraw: Available only when you moved a player to Excluded. Deletes unplayed matches that include the excluded player. Keeps completed results, court assignments, and the rest of the schedule. Does not fill byes or rebalance remaining matchups.
Regenerate: Use after moving players between groups, or whenever the remaining schedule must rebuild. For a typical dropout, regenerate from the next unplayed round so new matches omit the excluded player and completed scores stay intact.
If excluding a player leaves byes or uneven groups, use Regenerate instead of Withdraw.
Regenerate from the next unplayed round
Rebuild remaining rounds from Edit Rounds so completed scores stay in place.
Tap the admin button, then select Edit Rounds.
Choose Regenerate Rounds.
Pick the starting round. The default is the first round after the last round with completed scores. You can choose an earlier round, including round 1.
Optionally set a date and enable Restrict to Courts.
Confirm. Matches from the chosen round through the end are deleted and regenerated.
Regenerating from round 1 deletes all matches, including completed ones. The system warns you before you proceed.
League events
On a league, regeneration is scoped to the current date's rounds. By Date vs By Round affects which rounds that scope includes, so confirm you are on the correct date or round group before you regenerate.
Typical dropout workflow
Use this sequence when a player leaves after some rounds are already scored.
Open Edit Groups or Edit Player Groups and drag the player to Excluded.
Tap Save Changes.
Choose Regenerate (or open Edit Rounds → Regenerate Rounds).
Start from the next unplayed round so completed results stay intact.
If the player is only missing one match rather than leaving the event, swap them with the pencil icon on that match instead — see Substitutes and player swaps in Rotating Partner Round Robin.
