Step-by-step event creation walkthrough
Create an event when you want to set up a tournament or league in Good Game Sports. This walkthrough covers the usual order: choose the event type, add dates and location, set registration and pricing, choose visibility, add divisions, and create the event.
Hosts usually create events from the web app. If you are setting up a paid event, connect Stripe first.
Creating an event through CourtReserve
If you are creating an event that you have set up in CourtReserve, and want players to sync from there, follow Create a GGS event from a CourtReserve event.
Create a new event
Go to your Club Page.
Click Create Event.
Choose your event type and format.
Add the basic event details
Fill in the event name, dates, and location details.
Set the schedule in Setting dates so players and staff know when the event runs.
For leagues, enter the full start and end date range during setup. If your league runs across multiple days, use Manage League Dates to review the weekly round schedule.
Configure registration and payment
Choose how players register, then set pricing and refund options. If your event uses outside registration, add the registration link in Configuring registration settings.
For paid events, finish Setting up payment before you open registration. If you accept free agents, review Free agent settings so you know when players are charged.
Choose visibility and division setup
Use the Unlisted Event option if the event should not be public. Then add divisions and set each division’s rules in Managing Divisions.
If you are running a team event, set up teams and captains in Team creation and captain settings before you publish.
Create the event
Review the event details.
Click Create Event ✓.
Open registration when you are ready for players to sign up.
What to do next
After the event is created, move on to Creating multiple divisions to finish division-specific settings.
